Chakrata is a cantonment small hill station in Dehradun which is located at an elevation of 2,118 meters above sea level. Chakrata is 88 km from Dehradun. It is a perfect destination for weekends with your friends and family.

The former name of Chakrata is Jaunsar Bawar, a small village of Jaunsari tribe.

Mundali is 15 km from Chakrata and best for skiing and trekking, if you are an adventure lover, you would definitely love this place because Mundali is blessed with lush green forest and its peaks covered with white snow. You can enjoy skiing and trekking here.

Tiger Falls

The Tiger falls is a scenic waterfall which is located 25 km from Chakrata and 1 km downhill from the road Tourist enjoy here the falls. Tiger falls is a favorite picnic spot for youth to enjoy with their friends and it is also known as Kailua Pachad.

Budher Caves

Budher cave is located at a distance of 30 km from the Chakrata and is famous for the historic caves, it is a difficult trek. It is believed that Pandavas of Mahabharat dug this cave during their Vanvaas (Exile). Budher Cave is also known as Miola caves

Deoban Trek

Deoban trek is located in the northeastern part of Uttarakhand and it is surrounded by dense deodar forest, it is a home of varieties of birds Vyasa Shikhar is 1km from here where Vyasa wrote “Mahabharata’’ pond which is located 9km from Chakratan and it is a very popular place, this garden has varieties of trees such as Pulam Bhurans (Rhododendron) and apple trees. Ram Tal Horticultural Garden has also some famous bird species like Black-headed Jay, Grey Treepie, and Oriental Turtle Dove.

In Summer Season temperature is between 26 to 42-degree celsius. In monsoonal season the temperature is between 28 to 35-degree Celsius. In the winter season, the normal temperature is between 7 to 19-degree Celsius.
